Drinking age in hawaii or miami?
I'm 19 and interested in going to hawaii or miami in july or august, I've been looking on the internet at the drinking age for hawaii and a lot of places say 21 but that it is legal to drink when under this age so I was wondering what the full details were cheers.
- Everywhere in the U.S. of A you can't legally drink 'till 21. Now if your accompanied by your parents it's legal for them to give you alcohol (in moderation).
- I believe that CANCUN has a lower drinking age and has a similar climate/over all mood to where you were curious about.
EDIT:
Confirmed- mexico legal drinking age is 18. - well your 19 so dont drink ( I got arrested for underage drinking and I got sent to jail for 2years)
unless u want to go to jail
but who would its hell in there - Sorry cgo87, but what everyone else has already said is true. There is nowhere in the US, even outside of the continental US, that you can drink below the age of 21. Going to another country…..now that's a different story altogether
I have traveled/lived abroad several times and outside of the US the rules are pretty relaxed. I am currently living in Hawaii and ran into the same problem when my 20 year old brother came to visit. Although he was just a few months shy of his 21st birthday, no one would serve him. If you really wanna drink, you're going to have to go to another country to do so legally. - Drinking age is 21 in Florida but not sure about Hawaii, but pretty sure it is 21 - isn't hawaii the 50th or 51st state - again not sure because I'm canadian and in Canada the legal drinking age is 19!
- It is 21, Just like everywhere else in the U.S.
- The legal drinking age in both Hawaii and Florida is 21.
- The National Minimum Drinking Age Act of 1984 required all states to raise their minimum purchase and public possession of alcohol age to 21. States that did not comply faced a reduction in highway funds under the Federal Highway Aid Act…. It does not prohibit persons under 21 (also called youth or minors) from drinking. The term "public possession" is strictly defined and does not apply to possession for the following:
An established religious purpose, when accompanied by a parent, spouse or legal guardian age 21 or older
Medical purposes when prescribed or administered by a licensed physician, pharmacist, dentist, nurse, hospital or medical institution
In private clubs or establishments
In the course of lawful employment by a duly licensed manufacturer, wholesaler or retailer.”
