I am going to Hawaii and was wondering if there are different driving laws there. I'm 17 and am curious to know if I can drive someone who's 16. I live in California and have had my license for over a year passing the one year limit not being able to drive anyone under 21. Anyone know the laws in Hawaii?

3. if you plan to drive in hawaii, I assume you might be renting a car? And depending how much driving you plan to do, gas is not much cheaper there…

   to rent a car I believe you have to be over 21yrs old-
   UNDERAGE DRIVER FEE: All permitted drivers must be in possession of a valid drivers license issued by their respective jurisdictions of residence and must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age. Drivers that are at least twenty-one (21) years of age, but less than twenty-five (25) years of age will be subject to a supplemental charge (currently $20.00 per day; New York City $35.00 per day) unless prohibited by State law.

4. Hawaii laws are lenient, but you must have an adult over 21 yrs old to rent a car. The adult must insure you as the alternate driver, if you wish to drive. If you have a State license, you can drive in Hawaii. Based on your State jurisdiction only applies to your State jurisdiction. You may drive in Hawaii as long as you provide a valid license, and if you wish to live in Hawaii. Just go to Hawaii's DMV and transfer you State license to a Hawaiian license….ENJOY YOUR VACATION
