were is the best place in hawaii to bring my wife… we are after nature, volcano and cleanliness

1. You're not sure she is your wife? J/K. I suggest going to "The Big Island". The beaches there are not as pretty, but there are less tourists, most active volcano, and lots of different natures.

   The Big Island is the youngest of the group of Hawaiian islands. As such it is a diamond in the rough. The beaches are not yet smooth and pretty as the other Hawaiian islands, but at the same time the island is still maturing and has a lot of other benefits.

   The most active volcano (In the USA and I think in the world) is there. You can go into the park and if adventurous take a 3-5 mile hike to get close enough to see lava fairly close. Bring walking shoes for it, not sandals and wear jeans and long sleeve. Yes long sleeve because if you slip it is like glass and you will get cut.

   There is a small mountain with snow at the peak during winter. On one side it is Hawaiian like weather, on the other side of the mountain tropical rain forest with afternoon rains. Go there to see waterfalls and rain forests.

   Up North is another terrain all together. The Big Island has every terrain, but the dessert terrain. I liked going there and would suggest it again, away from main tourists, more local flare and lots of adventurous things to do.

3. Da Big Island! I take my 6th graders there every year from Oahu. Great learning experience every year!
