HAWAII . . .need help?

IM PLANNING TO VACATION IN HAWAII, BUT NOT KNOW WHICH ISLAND TO STAY IN? PLEASE HELP ME IN CHOOSEING ONE. AND WHY?

  1. YOUR HELP IS APRECIATED
  2. I have been to the island of Oahu six times and love it there. The island of Oahu has the most residents than any of the other Hawaiian islands.
Plenty to do and see there. Shopping, learning to surf from the beach boys, sight-seeing, etc!!
  3. I just vacationed with my family on Oahu! It was a lot of fun and there were many places to see. Although it is a very big city type atmosphere. If you want tropical islands and just relaxation I would suggest Maui.
  4. Certainly depends on what you're looking for. Just got back 2 weeks ago. Honolulu on Oahu is much like any other large city but with island influences. I liked the area very much. Waikiki is excellent but $$$$. Hanauma bay is a must if you like snorkeling. Perhaps my expectations were high but Maui was only so-so. Time kept us to driving only half the road to Hana. The sites you see in the pictures are at the end of the road :) Kihea on Maui is a fairly small beach town and is centraly located; Wailea is similar only much more expensive. Kaanapali is the busy beach spot.
  5. theres always the big island lots of things to do there
  6. MAUI was the most amazing, relaxing, fun vacation I have EVER had!!!!!
  7. I've had blast on both Kauai and Maui, there's more to do on Maui, more relaxing on Kauai.
  8. If you are not sure what you are looking for in a vacation to Hawaii I would go to Maui. Its the best combination of nightlife and wildlife. Kauai is beautiful but it closes up after dark. Some people might find it boring if you are not into outdoor recreation.
Maui gives you the benefits of a big city but still has wonderful beaches and hiking.

Questions: How long are you staying? If greater than 1 week I would Island hop.
What are your interests? Why are you going?
Do you want to see Pearl Harbor while you are there? If so, plan on a couple of day on Oahu.
