People say that Hawaii is a really expensive place to live…

1. But they also say that about England….
2. So which is more expensive?
3. From what I can tell, England is more expensive - higher taxes are a big part of it, and housing costs are pretty darned high.

   Of course, you have the benefit of relatively cheaply visiting a whole bunch of other countries either by car (you can ferry or go via the channel tunnel), train (tunnel), or flight.

   Hawaii is like a slightly-more-expensive version of the mainland US. But you have to factor in the cost of flying anywhere outside Hawaii itself!

4. England for sure, by twice as much, everything from transportation to rent to food, because their money is so much more valuable. Hawaii's not that bad. I live in canada and hawaii prices are the same as here.
