hey everyone…im a 21 year old dude and im moving to san diego in january from tennessee to go to school for a semester or so, but im thinking about moving to honolulu with my friend when he graduates in about a year and with a friend from high school who lives there now.san diego is nice and a change for me but, hawaii is amazing and I was wondering what the university of hawaii is like as far as the typical college experience. are there mainly commuters? are there a lot of out of staters? whats campus life like? whats honolulu like for UH students? is it a party school? (im not a huge partier but im just curious) stuff like that. basically I planned on transferring to san diego state in SD but now im thinking about UH if its worth it. also, one more thing…im inexperienced with this….if I want to take my car to hawaii, how do I approach doing that and how much does something like that cost? thanks for your help, im a relative stranger to the islands.

2. UH is a pretty good school.

   I can tell you though, the campus is ridiculously huge and a lot of my friends find that they need a car just to get to their next class, because it's so far away. The dorms aren't that great either so you may want to consider renting an apartment. Although, you do meet a lot of people by dorming there. & UH can be a party school, depends where and who you hang out with. All my friends seem to party a lot at UH.

   I think there are a *lot* of out-of-state people. One of my friends roommate is from Idaho, I think. Even foreign people as well (A lot from Japan). It's a great way to meet diverse people!! Over all, I recommend UH. & Hawaii is an amazing place!!
