Car rental for Kauai?
I'm planning on being in Kauai on vacation for 8 days. Should I rent a car or can I explore the island without having a car at my disposal? Maybe rent a car for a few days? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. thanks
- you need a car- we go every year and rent through priceline.com-we always get a great price(you bid the price you want to pay) Also if you have complete car insurance for your car at home you do not have to pay for the insurance that they will try and SELL you at the rental car agency(doulble check with your insurance carrier) last year we rented a compact for 16$ day -they always have an abundance of cars right at the airport We have never been dissapointed. and we never pay for the Insurance they try to sell. Have fun!!
- You'll need a car. You can rent an economy car for the week for around $200 if you shop for a good deal.
- Depends on where you are staying- Probably Poipou beach are where most people are? Yes you need a car. The island is small, but very spread out. You will want to drive the whole island to see the geography, from Poipou north to the State Park and the Napali coast, to the top of Waimea canyon. The island is beautiful.
- A car was really handy. Even though it's a small island, there are so many beaches and places to go to. If you are at a great snorkeling beach, like Poi P'u, (if you like to snorkel), then definitely do without a car for a few days and enjoy where you're at. Visit the Mariott near the Lihue airport. Awesome beach, restaurant. Great place for a night dip.
- I have been there a dozen times. You must have a car. You can rent a car for about two hundred bucks for a week. You get them right at the airport in Lahuie.
