1. I went to Kauai 10 yrs. ago
   driving around and stopping to hike/view all the water falls is free
   and GORGEOUS!
   YOu must see the fern grotto/take a boat there 2
2. we were there 4 monthsago. nothing is inexpensive there, but, it's stll well worth it. we rented ahouse which was much cheaper than a hotel. check out vrbo.com
