My husband and I are going to Kauai in February. Where should we stay?

  1. We stayed in Poipu at the Sheraton…it was great. We also went to the Hyatt for a luau…it looked really nice too. The cool thing about Kauai is that you can drive to the north in about an hour so where you stay doesn't limit your experience…you can still take a day and visit the other end of the island.
It's the most beautiful place I've ever seen on earth…you'll have a great time.
  2. ok let me see if I can be of help. Anyplace you stay will be utterly and completely gorgeous, but personally my favorite is Princeville. It is a perfect blend of low-key and still fun with enough things to keep you busy all day! Poipu is also good with good coves, but Princeton still wins my vote.
  3. together..
  4. If you like rain, go to the north shore, Hanalei Bay, is my favorite. It really is beautiful up there. The south shore, Poipu, is much drier, and they have the big hotels, and probably better and safer swimming areas. The north shore is pretty surfy, but if you like to surf, go north shore. The Hanalei Bay Resort, is a great place to stay.Aloha, and good luck
  5. Kiahuna Plantation in Hawaii. Each room is like a condo and has a decent size kitchen area. There is a Roy's and a Keoki's restaurant across the street (you can walk there) and there is a good restaurant at the Plantation. Gaylords restaurant is about a 15 minute drive. The beach is private so it doesn't get too crowded.
  6. depends how much can you guys afford…and also depends on which side of the island you guys are staying best place to go to http://www. expedia.com
  7. Princeville would be excellent with one caveat; it may be wetter on that side of the island than the Poipu side especially in the winter (February).

Poipu on the south shore may be drier but will lack the opportunity to see good sized winter waves. On the Poipu side I would say either the Hyatt or Sheraton.

There are other (cheaper too) hotels on the island but those would be my top three choices.

  8. Although Princeville is beautiful, I would stay away from there in Feb. if I were you. The south shore is your best bet at that time of year. We had record rains on Kauai last winter and it was pretty yucky for quite a while!

On the south shore try the Sheraton at Poipu, the Hyatt Regency, and Kiahuna Plantation. I've only stayed at the Sheraton but have heard good things about Kiahuna and have sneaked in (LOL) to swim at the Hyatt. What an amazing place! It's expensive but I bet it would be worth it to stay there.

Oh, and be sure to have at least one meal at Roy's! Don't forget to order a chocolate souffle for dessert…mmm!

Have a great time! Aloha :)

  9. I suggest the Hyatt Regency Hotel for their spectacular grounds complete with a lazy river type thing, fruit going on the trees, a private salt water beach, and more.

Very romantic. You'd have a blast
