What's the difference between?
Just wondering what's the difference between a porch, a patio, a lanai, and a terrace?
- Hi Contessa,
A porch has a covered roof or ceiling and may be on the front or rear of a house .
A patio is the same as a lanai; and is a single uncovered platform (usually made of brick or stone) on the rear of a house.
A terrace is technically a series of patios that are linked, with each tier either raised or lowered in a staircased fashion - they allways refered to lani as a screened room - in florida
