How BIG is Maui?

Can anyone tell me how big maui is. For example..could you drive from han to lahaina in an hour or two, or would this day a day or two?

  1. Well, it's different than you expect. The Road to Hana has something like 432 curves and is only 40 miles, but it takes like 3 hours since you're curling around a mountain the whole time. The average speed is SLOOOOOW. But you could get from anywhere to anywhere else in about an hour and a half, excluding traffic south of Lahaina going to Kahului. It's not a big island.
  2. You can drive from Hana to Lahaina, but not in an hour or two.Like the person mentioned above…too much turns, hills, and the drive is very sloowwww….there's a tape/cd for tourist to buy while driving through Hana. I didn't hear it, but I've heard it's okay. It also depends on the time of day your're driving. In Lahaina, there's "pau hana/afterwork" traffic, so you just might be in that traffic for an hour. Go ahead and check out the sources I've provided for you and I hope they are helpful.***ALOHA***

  3. The island of Maui is the second-largest of the Hawaiian Islands at 727 square miles (1883 km²). Maui is part of the State of HawaiʻI and is the largest island in Maui County. Three other islands, LānaʻI, Kahoʻolawe, and MolokaʻI belong to Maui County.
