my friend & I will spending 1day on Maui. what's the quickest drive from the Kahului airport to the Black Sand Beach Park & to the Maui Vineyard? plus, is a compact car ok for the drive?

1. ok, so I've been told that Hana hwy takes 4ever & that the Haleakela Hwy takes only an hr or so. is this true? & can a compact car make it on this trip? do I need a jeep?

3. The directions are on the Maui's Winery website and can be accessed by clicking on the accompanying link. Also can be accessed in a little better form on Mapquest.

   The directions to Wai'anapanapa State Park and its black sand beach start out the same but you stay on Hana Hwy.

   There is considerable distance between the two and visiting both in one day will be nearly impossible.

4. go to yahoomaps.com you can get a map & driving girections. It should do ok for a compact if you don't need much room.
