What is the best resort in Maui?

My husdand and I are having our first wedding anniversary this summer. All of our friends tell us they perfer Maui but there are so many choices. ***I NEED YOUR EXPEREANCE IN MAUI!! NOT BY LOOKING IT UP ON LINE….THANKS!!***

  1. My mom works for Starwood, which is a hotel company and I live in Hawaii often getting stays on Maui. My favorite hotel, which is beautiful is Sheraton Maui. They just renovated and everything at that hotel is just great. It's right on the beach, and it has a great pool and restaurants.

I also suggest considering Kauai. Princeville Hotel on Kauai is beautiful, and great for anniversary get aways. Very very good service, beautiful, secluded, and a great spa!

  2. Kaanapali beach hotel in lahaina.. its really nice.. I stayed there once.. it was worth it.. and the water at the beach is awesome.. but watch out for jumpers at black rock.. I live on maui..
  3. I just returned from Maui, and I would definitely recommend the Grand Wailea Resort & Spa. Although I'm not sure of your price range, as this can be a little pricey, if your'e looking for a romantic, relaxing and peaceful resort this is your place. But there is also a lot of stuff to do here - they have awesome pools, beach rentals, restaurants, shopping - you name it. My favorite part of this resort is that there are 9 pools all connected by slides and a water elevator. You can even drink while swimming at the grotto bar. I've also stayed on the west side of the island but nothing compares to Wailea.
  4. The Grand Wailea Resort Hotel & Spa is the perfect destination for a fabulous Hawaii vacation. The Grand Wailea resort is known for fun Hawaiian family getaways, honeymoons and having some of Hawaii's finest conference facilities. Situated on 40 meticulously landscaped acres, the Grand Wailea Resort Hotel & Spa opens onto Maui's beautiful Wailea Beach, voted one of the best beaches in America.
  5. If by "the best" you mean "the most luxurious", then the answer is The Grand Wailea in South Maui. Be ready to pay accordingly.

If you want a very secluded Hawaiian experience, then you can try Hotel Hana Maui. It is still expensive though.

A more popular resort is the Royal Lahaina in Kaanapali. It is nice with great beaches, however not as expensive as the Wailea resorts.

If you want a less expensive hotel, you can try the Maui Coast in Kihei. Sure, it is not really a resort. But is is a decent hotel with nice, clean rooms and you will be across the street from three of the best beaches on Maui, Kamaole I, II and III with plenty of other things to do.

    Good luck and Aloha.

  6. I'll bet all your friends say they prefer Maui because that is the first or only island they have been to. Ask them if it is the first island they ever visited. Don't make the same mistake, and only go to one.
  7. I've only stayed at the Hyatt Regency in Lahaina. I really like it. The beds are to die for!!! I've never slept in a more comfortable bed. I've stayed there two times, and will be going again in a week. My friends work for an airline and they use the Hyatt as the crew hotel. http://maui.hyatt.com/hyatt/hotels/index…

The Hyatt is a little ways away from Front Street where all the shops are, however, if you walk down the path along the beach, there is Whaler's Village a few blocks down. http://whalersvillage.com/

I've used the in-house snorkeling excursion and loved it! We'll be using them again when we go next week. It's about $100/person and they provide all the snorkeling gear, breakfast and lunch. It's about a 4-5 hour excursion on a boat with restrooms and covered seating (very important if you need to get out of the sun for awhile). You can sign up the night before the excursion in the hotel lobby at the Expedia desk.

The hotel also offers other activites, just check out the link I gave you above.

  8. Live in Hawaii, Mom in Hotel Industry. :)
