Trying to find out the best time to go for good weather in Maui so I can select an airfare/hotel vacation package.

1. Put it this way, the average temperature year round for the Hawaiian islands is 85 degrees F. That being said, it is ALWAYS warm. As for rain on Maui the first week in May? Chances are SOMEWHERE on the island it will be raining. Each island has a wet spot and a dry spot. Lahaina (on the west coast) tends to be dry and sunny year round. I've been to Maui 5 times (each a different time of year) and I have never been disappointed. The winter season tends to bring more rain so May should be just fine.
