What is the best day hike on Oahu?
- Olomana is my personal fav, but it's not for the weak. Definately an intermediate to advanced hike, but so SO memorable. Toward the top, you have to climb a rock wall. Not too bad going up, though it can be tricky. The hard part is coming down. It's a total blast. The view at the top is well worth it. And the best thing - no tourist! In fact, consider yourself lucky if you see anyone.
You will begin your hike at the Olomana golf course located between Waimanalo and Kailua. You can park outside the golf course entryway and no one cares. But beware of thieves - after the hike I came back and someone had jammed a screwdriver into my car lock trying to break in. They weren't successful *ha ha* but they messed up my door pretty good. Just ask the guards outside the course where the trail is and they will point you in the right direction. Here's a site with a little more about Olomana as well as other trails on Oahu.

Happy hiking!
- I would do Mauanawili Falls. It's short (3 miles), beautiful and there is a lovely swimming hole at the end. Not too many tourists know about it so the trail will be fairly empty. The swimming hole is really deep so you can jump of the surrounding ricks into the pool. Beware of leptosirosis.
- I WANT YOU TO GO TO THE SITE BELOW AND LOOK AT ALL THE TRAILS AVAILABLE ON OAHU. LOOK AT "STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN" AND SEE IF YOU WANT TO TRY IT. ALSO KNOWN AS "HAIKU STAIRS"

Diamond Head is one of my favorites, the view from the top is awesome, yes its a bit touristy, but then again it should be not many places you can hike a dormat Volcano!
