Which Bus route will take me from Waikiki to the Aloha Stadium on Oahu?

I'll be visiting Oahu next month and want to know how to get to the Aloha Statium from Waikiki. Will $2 get me all the way there? Do I have to transfer buses? And will they announce the Stadium stop, or will I have to know when to get off?

  1. There are direct buses you can take from Waikiki to Aloha Stadium with just $2 one way and you don't have to transfer at all. You can catch the buses on Kuhio Avenue going towards downtown Honolulu. The ride would take around 45 minutes to an hour. 3 buses go there directly. They are #19, #20 and #42. I am not sure about #42 though if it goes there. It is best to check with the drivers when you get on the bus and ask them. They are quite friendly about that and will even tell you what buses to take. They don't really announce the stops for Aloha Stadium and other stops. Sometimes the drivers would announce it and sometimes they don't. So, it's best to let the driver know where you want to go and ask him to let you know when he gets there. You can also ask the drivers where or how to get to a place. You can also check out the website at http://www.thebus.org for routes and schedule information and also call (808) 848-5555 for what buses to take to get to places.
  2. You and I both, bearstirringfromcave! Braddah raines on a roll. Make me tink he driving da bus!
    I'm pau!!!
  3. You'll be spending a whole lot of time on The Bus if you take it all the way there. They make frequent stops and wind around neighborhoods. If you like hanging out for about an hour or two, take The Bus, otherwise, phone up Robert's Hawaii, they'll pick you up right at your hotel and drop you off right at your destination. I think it's like $8 but ask about current rates, might be lower in the off season. It only takes about 30 min to get there from Waikiki. You can also rent a car…which is what I did, I loved having the freedom to get to the North end of the island.
  4. Raines has it nailed - - - so I'm gonna grab my 2 pts and go ….
