I will be traveling to Oahu in April of 2007. The place we are staying charges $17.00 a day to park. We both have our motorcycle indorsement. Only problem is theft!
- Personally, I've taken the city busses over various parts of Oahu, and found it a great way to see the "real" Oahu.
- It tends to rain without warning, too…

- It would be easier to see the beauty of the island in a convertible car. And pay the extra dollar or two for the insurance if you are so worried about it getting stolen. I've rented a jeep and a convertible mustang the two times I was there. There are also places in Waikiki where you can rent a motorcycle for the day, if you want to go for a ride, but I think having a car is better overall.
- You won't be able to carry very much on a motorcycle, where will you put your suitcase? As much as I love motorcycles you will be safer in a car.
- Ride your bike.
- No. Rent a car, because it's just as easy for a theaf to take motorcycle than a car. Just lock the car up and put the alarm on. That's what I did when I went to Oahu. Besides, that is what insurance is for.

- Personally I've always preferred a car. Much safer in an accident, you can store things in a car, carry more, are protected from the elements, more passengers, etc.
Spend a few extra $ and travel in style. Most rental companies will give you weekly rates.
