Which island would you rather visit, Kauai or Big Island?

we have a choice between spending a day on kauai or on the big island of hawaii. Which would you pick and why?

Should I visit Kauai or the Big Island when travelling with my husband and 1 year old son?

We'll be visiting Hawaii over Christmas (Oahu) and will have time to spend 1-5 days on another island. Which island would be best travelling with a 1 year old? He doesn't like to be in the car too long, but we're happy to wear him hiking or whatever. Suggestions on activities to try with him there?

Hawaii: Hopping islands or Cruise?

I'd like someone who's done both to suggest. Is it best to go from LA to Honolulu and then hop to Oahu, Maui and Big Island or is it better to find a cruise from Honolulu round the islands? If hoppping is suggested, what means of travel is available? Woudl that be expensive and are there long distances? Thanks for all your info. Am planning a honeymoon and finally decided Hawaii preferred over Western Caribbean. Much appreciated.
