Is it possible to live in Florida and not see palmetto bugs in your home? I'm considering moving back to Florida, but honestly its the only thing stopping me. I lived there in the 80s and they never seemed to be a problem, and I saw maybe one or two out in the lanai, but they seem to be more a problem now?

I love adventurous type stuff, like thrill rides, white water rafting and body surfing. I have asthma and bad allegies so I can't do anything that will leave me too winded. I would love to parasail but there is no parasailing when we are there because it is whale season. Not sure of the correlation there? Anyone have ideas for things to do that would excite me? Right now I'm actually dreading it- I'm not the type to lay on a beach for a week.
