I Want More on In Maui Upcountry does it rain as much as the north shore?

We are planning a Christmas and New Years trip. I assume it is windy on the eastern shore, hence the name windward shore. We are looking for a nice beach that is not in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the city. Would you suggest Kailua Beach? How is the weather there in December? Windy? I have heard of these Portugese jellyfish there also, is this something to be concened about?

Does anyone know of a good church close to the North Shore area of Oahu? I'm wanting to visit one, but don't really know where a good one is. And if you have their website, that would be amazing as well. Thanks!
